The staff and associates of Ranger TechWorks have years of experience working in and with a wide range of aerospace and other types of engineering companies.

Ranger TechWorks deploys engineering talent that is knowledgeable of the client organization. At the same time, they bring fresh ideas and concepts based on having seen other organizations’ approaches.





Ranger TechWorks is one of the three operating subsidiaries of Ranger International, based in Greenville, South Carolina.

Ranger International is a well-financed and experienced company, focused on providing products and services within the aviation and engineering industries. The other operating subsidiaries of Ranger International are CAV International and US Logistics. They operate primarily in the Government Services arena with over 40 operating locations in 10 countries and are involved in providing capabilities as diverse as complex tactical vehicle maintenance and repair, aircraft and cargo handling, passenger services, and ground support equipment management.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Steve HanveySteve Hanvey
President/CEO, Ranger TechWorks
Mr. Hanvey has over 40 years experience in the aerospace marketplace. He is a well-known senior executive in both Department of Defense and commercial aerospace design and sustaining engineering, testing & certification. He has senior level leadership experiences that created new engineering solutions and substantial scale at Beechcraft/Raytheon Aircraft, Hughes/McDonnell Douglas, and Piaggio USA. Hanvey holds numerous aviation awards including Aviation Week Laurel Award in 1994 and Laureate nominee in 2008, B&CA 2007 Vision award, JH "Jimmy" Doolittle Award 1995 (Society of Experimental Test Pilots), two time to climb World Class Records, and Aviation International News Top 10 Newsmakers in 1995 and 2002. He graduated from the US Naval Academy, Claremont University’s Advanced Management Program, and completed advanced degree work in Systems Analysis at the University of Southern California and aerodynamics at the USN Test Pilot School.

Phil QuistPhil Quist
Vice President Business Development, Ranger TechWorks

Mr. Quist is a seasoned senior executive and accomplished business consultant with over 20 years of operational and management experience in the development of complex technical projects and businesses. He has managed operations in numerous cities around the country and is very comfortable in high change environments with demanding customers. He has extensive engineering technology and program management experience. Prior to Ranger TechWorks, Quist served the role as Vice President of Business Systems for an industry leading Next-Generation Air Taxi company managing the day-to-day operations and strategic planning. He also worked as the Director of Technology with InteractiVisions, Inc. serving several large corporations that included Walt Disney World, AT&T, Macy’s, and several divisions of Sara Lee. Phil worked as a faculty member from 1989-1994 at Clemson University where he adapted Bell Labs’ interactive kiosk technology for educational and commercial purposes.

Thomas "TJ" LymanThomas “TJ” Lyman
Director, Programs, Ranger TechWorks

Mr. Lyman has over 30 years leading major programs for major industry leaders. He has primary experience in the design of aircraft and their systems. For 23 years, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps retiring as Lieutenant Colonel, Naval Aviator with over 650 combat missions in three combat tours. After his distinguished military career he has over 30 years work experience with all the major industry leaders including McDonnell Douglas, Raytheon Aircraft Company, Inter-Coastal Electronics and others. He received a M.A. Education from Pepperdine University, B.S., Aviation Management from Auburn University, and U.S. Navy Flight School.

Joe ShallcrossJoe Shallcross
Senior Advisor, Commercial, Ranger TechWorks
A decisive and proven leader in commercial aviation, Mr. Shallcross brings a rare combination of industry contacts, high energy and broad experience to the Ranger Techworks team. Before joining TechWorks, he served as an executive in several large corporations including Spirit Airlines, FedEx, Lufthansa Technik and Panasonic Avionics Corp. In each organization, he helped successfully develop world-class organizations and demonstrated excellence in operational efficiencies, production, procurement, product support and customer service. Joe is skilled negotiator and has a record of managing complex and difficult projects with multiple deliverables, tight schedules and restrictive cost constraints. Specific accomplishments and experiences include management of large production teams, setting up and certifying an FAA Part 145 Repair Facility in five months, negotiating numerous aircraft, engine and component repair and overhaul agreements; union contract negotiations, and significantly, hands on technical experience on Boeing and Airbus transport category aircraft. He is an FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic and holds an FCC Radio License. He received his B.S. summa cum laude in Aviation Maintenance Management from Lewis University in Chicago, Illinois. A veteran, Mr. Shallcross served in Vietnam where he was twice awarded the USAF Commendation Medal and was named Airman of the Year.

Mike Kreisman
Controller, CAV/Ranger TechWorks

Mr. Kreisman has 30 years of Financial / Accounting experience in both public accounting and business and industry. Former experience includes 5 years of public accounting background with a regional CPA firm, 20 years as Controller a large textile manufacturer, 5 years as Accounting Manager of IAP Worldwide Services. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Economics from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1980.

Bill McLendonBill McLendon
COO RISG/Ranger TechWorks

Mr. McLendon is an accomplished senior executive in the aviation services industry. Prior to joining Ranger International, he was President and CEO of JetCorp Technical Services in St. Louis, MO. Mr. McLendon has also held executive positions with Aircraft Service International Group, Stevens Aviation, ATS Aerospace, and ARC Corporation. He holds an Engineering Mechanics degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he graduated first in his class. A Rhodes Scholar, he holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Oxford University, England. Mr. McLendon completed intensive graduate study in business finance, mergers and acquisitions, including the Wharton Business School’s Executive Development Mergers and Acquisitions program. He serves on the Aviation Technology and Maintenance Committee of the National Air Transportation Association. Mr. McLendon was an F-15 pilot in the U.S. Air Force.

Jeff HartmanJeffrey P. Hartman
CFO, RISG/Ranger TechWorks

Mr. Hartman holds an active CPA license for the State of Florida and has numerous years of CFO experience in Private and Public Companies. He has over 20 years of aviation industry experience with KPMG, Signature Flight Support, Aircraft Service International Group and Sentient Jet prior to joining Ranger International Services Group. Growth Environments are a specialty of his as all of the companies have experienced rapid above market growth and as such is fluent in large scale integration efforts. Mr. Hartman has worked with numerous Private Equity Groups such as CIBC, John Hancock, HSBC, AIG, Argosy, ABS Capital, CD Ventures, Brantley Partners and the Seligmann Group. Mr. Hartman received his MBA and MA in Accounting from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Chuck SwannackChuck Swannack
President & CEO, US Logistics

As the President and CEO for US Logistics, Chuck Swannack leads the many operations of the company, provides senior-level industry and government expertise to the business development process, and plays a significant contributing role in the overall leadership group of Ranger. MG Swannack is a 1971 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in progressive leadership and staff positions throughout his distinguished 34-year US Army career. MG Swannack served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and led elements of the 82nd Airborne Division in the advance to Baghdad and in the succeeding year in western Iraq. Since leaving active duty in 2005, MG Swannack has mentored US Army senior military leaders in soon to be deployed units to help prepare them for the rigors of combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Chuck Swannack also serves on the Board of Directors for Recon Robotics and the NC Heroes Fund; and is President of the Military Family Lifestyle Charitable Foundation.

Steve TownesSteve Townes
Chairman, RISG
Mr. Townes is an aerospace entrepreneur with over 30 years experience running and growing large scale aviation services operations in both the military and civilian arenas. As CEO and Founder of Ranger Aerospace, he has led Ranger’s many efforts since early 1997 in the successful acquisition and growth of Aircraft Service Intl Group to over 4000 employees (www.asig.com) and Keystone Helicopter (www.keystonehelicopter.com), Ranger’s two largest previous “realized” investments. With Keystone, Townes and the Ranger team drove growth efforts that resulted in tripling of revenues and profits in 4 years. Keystone exceeded $125 Million in sales and was sold to a strategic buyer for over 9 X EBITDA, yielding 51% “IRR” to institutional equity shareholders. Townes now leads Ranger International Services Group, another steadily growing Ranger platform (www.rangerinternational.com). He is also the primary interface with the Private Equity groups who act as our institutional shareholders, and his Ranger Aerospace LLC is their primary management co-investor. Townes is a West Point graduate, earned an MBA at Long Island University, and is a PMD alumnus of Harvard Business School. He earned the Eisenhower Award upon graduation from West Point, and served in the Army’s Rangers as a young officer before commencing his distinguished aerospace career. Townes also trained as a “Lancero” in Colombia, South America, and has extensive international experience.
